6157 was purchased as a 12 year old cow from Larry Leonhardt Cowley, Wyoming. She is now nearly 18 years old and the finest representative of bovine functional reproductivity that I am aware of anywhere. Her individual goodness is not the result of heterosis that can’t be passed on but instead the result of linebreeding and selection, ensuring that her genotype matches her phenotype and explaining the consistency of her genetic transmission. As the only cow we have ever flushed her influence is rapidly expanding in our herd by her numerous sons, grandsons, and daughters that are being retained. Pedigree here ->
Shoshone Frances 6306 is an outstanding cow in our program. At this point, her influence is being put back into our herd through three of her sons including two full brothers by JAD PRUDENT LAD 6157 and a daughter by HORSE BUTTE 1126 OF 3128.
3199 is a good representative of the Shoshone Ester cow family. She produced a bull in 2007 by JAD PRUDENT LAD 6157 that is being used in our herd. Pedigree here ->
COLE CREEK JUMBOLEEN 133N has worked her way to the top end of our Cole Creek bred females. She demonstrates excellent udder quality and femininity with substance. Last year at weaning she weighed 1055# and measured slightly more than a 4.5 frame. She is the dam of JAD POCO GRANDE PM73.
JAD PRUDENCE P02 has demonstrated great fertility. When she was a yearling we had a bull problem and she didn’t calve until August 19, the next year she calved June 8, and the year after that she settled A.I. with one straw of semen and calved June 5. She has excellent udder quality and is raising a JAD PRUDENT LAD 6157 son that is a candidate to be a herd bull for us.
SHOSHONE PRUDENCE 6114 adds calving ease and udder quality. Her son JAD LAD S6114 is being used as a heifer bull.
